Spent 24 hrs at the cabin with the thought of fine tuning the exterior doors and installing 2 portholes. Many years ago a guy at dad’s workplace gave him 2 portholes from a tug refit. Dad had them under the old cabin and, before we took the old cabin down, we took them back to town to have them sandblasted and powder coated. As each unit is cast brass, they weigh more than the door itself and it was important to get the doors hanging properly before adding the extra weight. We also had a matching set of stainless steel ring inserts made up to finish the exterior side of these portholes.
Nice up cycle of the portholes! Slightly terrifying shot of the homeowner.
